The difference between Sea Zen and other forms of training
-One of the advantages of Sea Zen training over Pilates and other Yogas is that the postures are not overly complicated. Yoga/Pilates postures are complicated and vigorous which makes them unfit for older people and also poses a risk to the back or joints. However, Sea Zen postures are similar to simple exercises that those in their 50s or 60s can easily follow. This is the advantage of Sea Zen compared with other forms of training which require complicated and vigorous postures. Furthermore, the effects of Sea Zen training are superior to other Yogas/Pilates in that, due to the accumulation of chi, trainees can experience a boost of energy throughout their body for a long time.
-Sea Zen training is better than aerobics for similarreasons. Sea Zen training is not as vigorous as aerobics and thus, is suitable for the elderly. Also chi does not accumulate through aerobics. Sea Zen accumulates chi in the body, allowing trainees to maintain energy throughout the day and gradually ridding the body of ailments.
-Sea Zen is different from to other forms of breathing training in that Sea Zen does not utilize consciousness (Eui Nyum). Sea Zen training accumulates or circulates chi through chi science of Ul Soom and stretching, not through the concentration of thoughts. Therefore Sea Zen training does not carry the risks of side effects that can arise from utilizing consciousness (Eui Nyum) such as chi indigestion (chi blockage) or the rising of chi to the head. Also progress in training is incomparably faster. Accumulation of chi can be completed in three months and trainees can master Small Heavenly Circulation in another three months with just 40 minutes of Sea Zen training daily.
-Unlike meditation including other zens which simply relaxes the body by maintaining a sitting position, Sea Zen boosts physical strength while offering the same effects of meditation. Trainees can experience similar effects ofmeditation through Sea Zen training by focusing on postures during training. Also, by accumulating chi in the waist chi vessel Tan Tian, Sea Zen training calms the mind making it easier to enter the deep state of meditation.
